Elmwood picked to redesign Met Office brand

LONDON - The Met Office has chosen Elmwood London to help re-launch its brand to stakeholders and reinforce it as the UK's leading authority on weather forecasting and climate change.

Research conducted by the Met Office revealed the organisation was highly regarded by customers and public alike for its weather forecasting, but less well-known for its research into climate change.

Elmwood will work with key Met Office staff and customers to clarify and develop the brand messages across the board.

Nicolas Mamier, managing director of Elmwood London, said: "We are delighted that we have been chosen to work with the Met Office at this crucial stage in its brand development. As a business, Elmwood is committed to reducing its own carbon footprint as well as helping businesses tackle climate change issues, so to have one of the world's foremost climate centres as a client is a great opportunity to keep learning."

The project will be split into two key phases, firstly Elmwood will develop a comprehensive set of brand guidelines and after launching the refreshed brand will produce and implement a communications plan to encourage internal and external stakeholders to embrace new positioning.

Lisa Johnson, Met Office brand manager, said: "This is an exciting opportunity to work with Elmwood and update our brand strategy. Over the coming months we will realign to meet our strategic aims and future vision."

Elmwood's roster clients include Asda, Boots, McCain, HBOS and the BBC.
