The £93m 22,500 all-seater stadium American Express Community Stadium will open in June 2011, and will feature event, conferencing and banqueting areas.

Brighton has famously been without a home ground since 1993 after the sale of the historic Goldstone Ground.

Currently the team play at Brighton’s Withdean Stadium, but the move will provide the club with more commercial event opportunities.

Plans have also been mooted for use of the stadium as an occasional concert venue.
