Electrolux signs deal to sponsor golf's Solheim Cup

LONDON - Electrolux has become an official partner of the ladies golf tournament, the Solheim Cup.

The home appliance brand has also signed a two-year deal to sponsor Helen Alfredsson, captain of the European Solheim Cup Team.

The bi-annual tournament features top European and US players and follows a similar format to the Ryder Cup.

Peter Sj枚lander, global Electrolux brand director and senior vice-president of marketing for Europe, said: "Golf is a great social sport, which supports our values and which encompasses the importance of spending quality time with friends and family, whether it is at home or on the golf course."
 
The 2007 Cup begins on September 14 and is this year held at the Halmstad Golfklubb, Sweden.

It will be the 10th event with the USA Ladies currently leading Europe six games to three in the tournament.
