Electric Run to return to Wembley Park in 2015

Organisers of the 5K night time Electric Run have set a date for a second event at Wembley Park next year.

The news follows a successful launch event in April this year which attracted more than 15,000 participants. The 2015 event will take place on 2 May, and is aiming to attract even more runners.

The concept launched in the USA in 2013, sweeping the country and racking up more than 300,000 participants in its first year. It features immersive "lands" of light and sound that transport runners into an "electric wonderland".

To deliver the event, Electric Run has once again teamed up with GE Sports. Comprised of Grounded Events, organisers of Brighton Marathon Weekend and Generate Events who organise and promote large scale concerts across the country, the two companies combine expertise in the music and sports event sectors.

Tom Naylor, managing director of Grounded Events said: "Electric Run UK was a huge success at Wembley Park in 2014 and it was fantastic to see it unfold as one of the largest running events in the capital. The return event in 2015 will undoubtedly be a superb sequel with even more participants for a bigger, louder and brighter Electric Run experience."
