Johnson will be involved in promotional activity, advertising and personal match day appearances for 12 months. This will encompass England's Six Nations matches, as well as Heineken Cup games for his club, Leicester Tigers.
The campaign will focus on sports-related strains and pains and demonstrate how health and fitness can be maintained when injuries occur. Johnson himself wears a significant amount of strapping and tape during matches.
The Elastoplast Sport range, owned by Beiersdorf, consists of elastic adhesive bandages, rigid strapping tape and adjustable neoprene supports.
They are aimed at professional and semi-professional sports people and are designed for injury rehabilitation and prevention.
Last August, Elastoplast teamed up with sports charities to raise its profile among physiotherapists and coaches. The activity, developed by integrated agency Mercier Grey, involved direct mail and sampling as well as targeted posters and leaflets.
Razor brand Bic signed up the England captain in July last year. His first campaign, by Endacott RJB, launched its triple-blade razor product, Bic Comfort 3.
