Last year, Astley relaunched his music career after eight years with an album of cover versions including Don McLean's 'Vincent'. In the BBC show, Astley will be paired up with a celebrity competing to be crowned 'Just the Two of Us' champion.
Celebrities reported to be competing include: BBC newsreader Fiona Bruce; GMTV newsreader Penny Smith; Gaby Roslin; 'Cutting It''s Sian Reeves; Nicky Campbell; 'Holby City''s Mark Moraghan; 'Hollyoaks''s Chris Fountain; and 'Rogue Trader' presenter Matt Allwright.
Singers joining Astley in the line-up include Beverly Knight, Natasha Hamilton, Jo O'Meara, Alexander O'Neal, Curtis Stigers, Martin Fry and disco singer Jocelyn Brown.
Each night, the nine couples, one a celebrity and one a singer, will undertake a variety of styles from country and western to pop and soul in a duet showdown with a live band. Similar to the sister production 'Strictly Come Dancing', the pairs will be judged by an expert panel, with the public voting for their favourite.
The BBC show will have a new twist, which will see the next to bottom couple hitting the campaign trail and visiting the region where they gained the least number of votes.
This will take participants out across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland to try to convince people to vote for them next time.
Karen Smith, executive producer of the show, said: "We're setting out to do what we do best -- to create a big, vibrant exciting entertainment show.
"Each night will be packed with both new and classic songs, a live band in the studio and live singing that challenges the celebrities to perform in ways they've never done before."
The show is due to debut on BBC One on February 23 and will see husband and wife team Tess Daly and Vernon Kaye present their first show together.
