Egg names WCRS director Wright as marketing chief

LONDON - Online bank Egg has hired WCRS business director Alison Wright to take over as chief marketing officer next year.

Wright will replace Andy Deller, who is leaving to become chief executive of the Dunbar Bank. He has worked at Egg since it launched in October 1998.

Before joining WCRS, Wright was managing director of Manning Gottlieb OMD, the media planning and buying agency she joined as brand communications director in 1999. At Egg, she will report to chief executive Paul Gratton and be responsible for its brand, marketing, sales and research functions.

Gratton said: "While we are sad to see Andy leave Egg, we are delighted that Alison is joining us at such a pivotal time. We are continuing to reinvigorate the Egg brand, extend our product range and reach, and a closer collaboration with Prudential will offer even further opportunities."

Wright, who was business director on the Abbey account at WCRS, said: "Egg is a fantastic brand. It has always been at the forefront of innovation in financial services, it offers market leading products and services and is firmly on the side of the consumer. I am excited to be able to be involved in the next stage of Egg's development."
