EE is part-way through a consultation process after announcing the job cuts internally last week.
A source at EE told Marketing that the breakdown of job losses across individual departments will not be clear until the consultation ends.
The source suggested the number of marketing staff affected will constitute a "very small" fraction of the 350 jobs lost. EE CMO Pippa Dunn and marketing director Spencer McHugh will not be personally affected by the changes.
As noted by Bloomberg, EE will add sales and customer service jobs elsewhere in the wake of its deal to buy Phones4u's mobile business, Life Mobile.
It is also rumoured that EE's owners, Orange and Deutsche Telekom, are planning to put the firm up for sale or float at a valuation of up to £12bn.
An EE spokesman said:"As part of our strategy to expand UK-based customer service teams, and reach our goal of being number one for service, we need to make changes to our company structure.
"Consequently, we're proposing changes to some of our corporate functions. We appreciate this will be a difficult time for the staff affected and will support them through this period in any way we can."
