The online marketplace has recruited four specialist gift helpers for the occasion, and each individual specialises in a particular area of gift purchasing and giving.
To engage with the elves, members of the public can contact Ebay using the @eBay_uk Twitter handle and accompanying #EbayElves hashtag, along with information about their gift-giving conundrum.
One of the four ‘experts’ will then refer to the company's database of products and respond with a tailored suggestion. The service will be available until 20 December.
The #EbayElves:
- Alice: @eBay_UK_Alice – offers advice on gifts for kids, activities and family.
- Carrie: @eBay_UK_Carrie – is on hand to provide tips for hosting the perfect Christmas party, irrespective of budget.
- Steve: @eBay_UK_Steve – specialises in Secret Santa style gifts and tracking down top deals.
- Greg: @eBay_UK_Greg – has a knack for uncovering original gifts and inventive gift-wrapping ideas.
Ebay sent an in September, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
