EasyJet's Buckle joins Travelodge for marketing shift

LONDON - EasyJet's head of marketing Alistair Buckle is joining the low-cost hotel chain Travelodge as director of brand marketing, charged with developing a new marketing strategy for the company.

Buckle will report to sales and marketing director Guy Parsons and will be responsible for advertising, brand identity, website design, collateral and new-product development. Travelodge retains Euro RSCG for its advertising account.

At EasyJet, Buckle looked after marketing strategy and implementation across Europe, and was behind the new marketing strapline "Come on, let's fly".

Travelodge said that his experience would help it as it embarked on its biggest expansion programme to date.

Parsons said: "Alistair has vast experience of the travel industry and is well placed to help us drive our business forward with strong marketing ideas that will help us meet our ambitious targets for 2005."
