There was uproar from fans last year after BBC America took the show off the air because it said it was performing poorly. But die-hard fans, including Huey from the band Fun Lovin' Criminals, have helped bring it back and can watch the show again -- provided they are willing to pay $9.95 (£5.40) a month for the privilege.
Thousands of fans had signed a petition to bring the show back to BBC America, but the company, which is a commercial network and part of BBC Worldwide, said at the time that it had to attract ratings and advertisers to keep programmes in the schedule.
Susan Arnold, vice-president of programming for Dish, said: "Expatriates and other fans from America and around the world are going to be ecstatic to be able to watch 'EastEnders' again.
'EastEnders' is like no other drama I know. The show's fans are quite remarkable in their loyalty and devotion."
Any expats who have been keeping up to date on storylines will find themselves going back in time, with Dish, owned by EchoStar Communications, picking up where the series left off last September, just before 'Dirty' Den Watts made his reappearance on the show after a 14-year hiatus.
This means that they have storylines to look forward to such as Sharon Watts getting it together with her half-brother Dennis, Sonia Jackson getting it together with the man who killed her fiance, and the demise of queen bitch Janine Butcher.
After the Dish announcement, Parule Basu-Barua, senior vice-president of business development and interactive at BBC America, said: "At the time 'EastEnders' came out of our schedule, we made a commitment to fans that we would work to find an alternative way for them to enjoy this fantastic show. We are delighted that Dish Network is helping make this happen."
The show will broadcast starting June 6, with viewers having the option to watch four episodes for $3.95, or for $9.95 a month they can watch as many scenes of Dot and Pauline in the laundrette as their hearts desire.
