East Coast rail line in major ad push

Train operator East Coast is rolling out its biggest marketing campaign to date to promote a revised timetable and improved on-board service.

The multimillion-pound drive, created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO with media planning by MPG, spans TV, outdoor and digital. It introduces the strapline 'Welcome to East Coast'.

The first TV ad, which breaks on 22 May, features impressionist Rory Bremner travelling by train to his home town of Edinburgh.

Separately, East Coast is looking for a digital agency to handle its website build and design, eCRM and social media activity.
