Dymo marks 50th anniversary with golden ticket promotion

LONDON - Iconic label-making brand Dymo is marking its 50th anniversary with a giveaway of gold-themed prizes.

Customers buying one of the Dymo LabelWriters could find a golden ticket inside. This could win them one of 50 prizes on offer in the promotion, ranging from a gold Canon Ixus digital camera to a gold Peugeot 207cc.

There are also gold and diamond bracelets, vintage Champagne, and a holiday to the golden sand dunes of Dubai. The promotion will direct consumers to a dedicated website.

The Dymo company was founded in California in 1957, selling embossing products by mail order.

The 1970s saw an explosion in Dymo's low-end embossed labelmakers. In the 1980s, the company introduced its first electronic label maker.
