Droga5 tries wiping away cliches for acne spot

The agency's first TV ad for Clearasil tries to inject some humor into the category

The typical acne ad explains how the product can improve your appearance better than that other product, punctuated by the sight of water splashing against a light background. See: ,  , or .

Bucking this trend (somewhat) is a fresh spot called "Interuption," the first entry in a campaign by Droga5 for Clearasil called "Let's Be Clear." The familiar graphic illustrations of shrinking zits are still here, but so is a talking bottle of acne cream that assures a teen boy that his pimple won't last forever. An absurd premise involving the boy's mom helps illustrate the point.
