The London office will have a combined staff of 120, with 10 taking voluntary redundancies. Staff at the Oxford office were given the option to take voluntary redundancy and no compulsory redundancies were made.
Sez Maxted, formerly managing director of the Oxford-based unit, has moved down to London with the rest of her team and becomes managing partner alongside Ian Taylor and Tony Watson.
Maxted said: "Having reviewed our UK structure, it made perfect sense to build a really powerful London agency. We're delighted to have retained many Oxford staff, and those that made the trip are really positive about the move."
DraftWorldwide Oxford's clients, including Nestle Purina, The Financial Times, Twinings and the BBC, will all be handled by the enlarged London division.
Taylor and Watson said in a joint statement: "The Oxford client base was a perfect complement to the London roster, which added to the compelling case for bring the two offices under one roof. The merger also takes us a step closer to our aim of making DraftLondon the centrepiece of DraftWorldwide's European network."
The move follows the merger last summer of Interpublic's direct marketing agencies LoweLive and DraftWorldwide to build a global network. The merger is understood to have taken place because Draft was seen as weak in the UK and there were doubts about Lowe's ability to develop significantly on a global scale.
Since the beginning of the year, the agency has won business including the COI, in partnership with Delaney Lund Know Warren, and strengthened its grip on the Telewest Broadband account by being appointed sole agency.
DraftWorldwide's Edinburgh office has been unaffected by the news, as has its research division HPI. Together, Draft Worldwide's UK operations have billings of 拢240m and employ 240 staff.
