"Data protection issues demand a strong understanding of international and domestic legislature. Our new team's specialized experience in this field is crucial for our continued growth and strength in this sector of the business," said Jules Polonetsky, Chief Privacy Officer, DoubleClick. Polonetsky has been with DoubleClick since its privacy woes surfaced, early last year.
Domestically, Nuala O'Connor has been appointed DoubleClick's Vice President of Data Protection and Chief Privacy Officer for Email and Emerging Technologies. Additionally, Elise Berkower, former Director of Adjudication at the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, has been named Privacy Compliance Officer.
Tom Kordich has been hired as DoubleClick's Director of Privacy Technology. He was formerly responsible for security engineering at Cablevision. In the UK, Amanda Chandler, formerly the compliance manager for the police and criminal justice sector of the Data Protection Commissioner, was named Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Data Protection for Europe.
The new hires are aimed at reinforcing DoubleClick's compliance with industry attempts at self-regulation on privacy matters, with adherence to priciples such as fairness, security and notice.
