DoubleClick buys Tangozebra agency

Online marketing company DoubleClick has acquired digital technology and rich media agency Tangozebra for £15m, from marketing services group Media Square.

DoubleClick said the acquisition will provide rich media capability, and help with emerging technologies such as podcasting and in-game advertising.

The two companies will merge to provide an integrated ad management suite across all digital advertising formats. The pairing will also offer a brand survey tool to measure campaign effectiveness.

Tangozebra was co-founded in 1996 by managing director James Booth and James Barrs. Booth will now head DoubleClick's rich media business in the EMEA region.
