LONDON (Brand Republic) 鈥 US pizza chain Domino鈥檚 Pizza is set to expand to 1,000 stores in the UK over the next few years, creating 20,000 new jobs.
Chairman Dave Brandon said he would rapidly expand the current chain of 210 stores and make the company recognised as one of the best to work for.
His plans come as overall pizza sales from fast food restaurants fell 6% in the UK in the year to May 1999, but he said the company would succeed in its mission.
Brandon pledged to cut employee turnover at Domino鈥檚 by half. 鈥淚 am trying to create a culture that is more people-friendly,鈥 he said.
The news comes as KFC announced it would create 10,000 jobs by 2005 by opening 300 more fast food chicken restaurants in the UK.
