The DMA is keen to promote outstanding HR practice among members and recognises those who excel in this field. The awards are split into three categories, comprising recruitment, training and development, and innovation.
The awards aim to provide a forum for the marketing communications community to share ideas on best practice in recruitment and retention of staff; reward HR policy innovation; to attract more skilled people into the industry; and maintain the UK's position as the world leader in direct marketing.
The DMA believes that developing the talents of the people within direct marketing is the most productive way of ensuring a bright future for the industry. It intends to ensure that members contributing most in this area are given the recognition they deserve.
Mike Dodds, management partner at OgilvyOne Worldwide and a previous winner, said, "There is nothing like being benchmarked against the best in the industry and coming out on top. The endorsement that the DMA Excellence in People Awards gives you not only proves useful in encouraging the best talent to join the agency, but also sends a powerful signal to prospective clients about the values that the agency holds dear."
The deadline for entries is 12 noon on Monday November 5 2001.
An awards luncheon will take place in London in February 2002 and, as well as the presentations, all attendees will share in the secrets of best practice as the DMA showcases winning case histories.
