DLKW takes on Leonardo's Barton for direct arm

LONDON - Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners is looking to improve the breadth of its offering with the appointments of Steve Barton and Anna Hutson.

Barton joins as the chief executive of the agency's direct and digital arm, Delaney Lund Knox Warren Dialogue, working alongside the chairman, Simon Andrews. The outfit, which launched in January 2002, has a client list including Burger King, HBOS and Vauxhall.

Barton was the chief executive of Leo Burnett's direct arm, Leonardo, before its merger in July with Arc Integrated Marketing. He was also a founding partner of Jones Mason Barton Antenen.

DLKW's chairman, Greg Delaney, said: "Barton is very experienced, he's been there and done it all before. He'll bring new and complementary skills to Dialogue's offering and will help take it on to the next stage. He's been on the advertising side and the direct marketing side and he believes, understands and practises integration."

Barton added: "It was the ambition of Simon and the partners of DLKW that I found particularly attractive."

In addition, DLKW has added experience to the agency's planning department with the appointment of Anna Hutson.

Hutson began her career at BMP DDB, where she spent eight years. She then moved to WCRS as the deputy head of planning before becoming a partner at Malcolm Moore Deakin Hutson.

Claire Snow, DLKW's planning director, commented: "We're delighted to have someone of Anna's experience and credentials come and join the party. Planning at DLKW goes from strength to strength."

Hutson added: "I feel extremely fortunate not only to be working with a bunch of highly talented, bright people but also people who are refreshingly enthusiastic and confident about what they do."
