
Dixons, which owns the PC World, Currys and Dixons.co.uk brands, is the largest electrical supplier in the UK.
It says 30% of wide screen TVs, the most popular of which are size 32-inches and over, sold in the past two weeks have been 3D-enabled.
A spokesperson said: "Throughout the past two weeks, sales of 3DTVs have made up almost 30% of all large screen TV sales online and in the 650 nationwide Currys and PC World stores.
"The surge in demand for 3DTV technology was kickstarted by Currys as they became the first UK high street electrical retailer to sell a 50 inch 3DTV package for less than £1,000 at the start of October."
