Disneyland Paris: host to world event |
Truck advertising specialist Carl Tooney has launched an ambitious bid to pull the global advertising market together by holding a worldwide industry conference next year.
Tooney, whose company CT Media sells ad space across a fleet of 100 branded lorries, has approached major industry players to attend the event which will take place next September at Disneyland Paris.
The Advertising Festival, which Tooney hopes will become an annual fixture in the media industry calendar, is open to media owners and agencies worldwide.
Representatives from both traditional and new media opportunities have been invited to the event, which he says will also play host to a raft of industry awards.
"It is an opportunity for advertisers, agencies and media owners to come together to see what media is available world wide," claimed Tooney.
"There's nothing like this in the world that caters for the global media industry in the same way that creative genius is served at the Cannes Lions.
"It is an opportunity for new media to be part of the global market as well as established companies."
Tooney has sent invitations to every major media owner and agency in the UK but plans a global event, with Zenith Media Israel chief executive Alon Hochdorf one of the first to be appointed a judge.
He said: "In the first week alone, the website (www. theadvertisingfestival.com) has attracted 19,000 hits and inquiries from every corner of the world."
