The Walt Disney Company has promoted Jonathan Evans to the new

position of UK vice-president, sales and marketing, with a brief to

develop its in-store displays and promotions.

Evans, who joined Disney 18 months ago as marketing and retail director,

will now report to Peter Morris, executive president and managing

director of Walt Disney International UK.

Evans will be responsible for retail relationships and marketing

activities for all consumer product lines. ’We will be developing

displays and promotions at retail level that will provide the true magic

of the Disney experience,’ he said.

Before joining Disney, Evans held a number of sales and marketing

positions at Hasbro Toys, where he developed in-store theatre concepts

to support the company’s core brands. He also has sales and retail

experience with a number of multinational companies including

Gillette.

In June the Walt Disney Company unveiled its first campaign for the

launch of its new travel subsidiary, The Walt Disney Travel Company.
