Teeman replaces Phil Cowdell, who has moved across to manage MindShare's European Ford account. Cowdell replaces Nick Kelvin, who has left the agency to pursue other interests. MindShare is the agency of record on the majority of Unilever's global business.
Teeman is a former board director at The Network, the predecessor to MindShare, but left shortly before the Ogilvy & Mather media dependant merged with J Walter Thompson's in-house media department to form MindShare five years ago.
He had worked at The Network, and before that Ogilvy & Mather Media, for nine years but quit to join Discovery Networks Europe after failing to get a place among MindShare's senior line-up. Teeman had been the board director responsible for running The Network's Ford account.
At Discovery Networks Europe, Teeman managed the channel's European sales and marketing efforts and co-ordinated the relationship with its UK advertising sales house IDS and, more recently, Sky Media.
Teeman joins the London management team of MindShare Worldwide's chief strategy and planning officer, Nick Emery. "Bringing Phil to the company is a great opportunity to increase the talent we have to represent our key clients such as Unilever and Ford," Emery said.
