
Programmes to be included within the deal include Amazing Conversions, Tommy Walsh Makes it Big and VIP House Hunter. Smartnewhomes will have 15-second animated sponsorship credits at the beginning and end of shows.
Discovery Networks UK worked on the deal with Sky Media, its ad sales partner, and Golley Slater.
Steven Lees, head of marketing for Smartnewhomes.com, is hoping the deal will raise awareness of new properties in a "tough marketplace".
Last week, Discovery Communications secured its first channel slot on Freeview, striking a deal to license capacity from ITV-owned digital terrestrial multiplex operator SDN.
The channel, details of which have yet to be announced, will launch in early 2009. Discovery said the channel will draw upon its library of factual, entertainment and lifestyle programming and also include scripted acquisitions.
