
Toher will develop ad sales strategy for Discovery's portfolio of channels, focusing on increasing pan-EMEA and international ad sales and brand partnerships.
She joins Discovery from Passionato, a specialist classical music download site that launched in 2008, where she served as head of advertising sales and promotions.
Toher has a 20-year record of media sales and account management at companies such as Thames TV and Channel 4 where she held the position of sales group manager.
Last month, Martin Heaton-Cooper, former acting managing director of UK channels at NBC Universal, was named as head of UK ad sales for Discovery Communications UK, two months after his predecessor resigned.
He replaced Andrew Grieve, who left Discovery in March to start a new job at pay-TV broadcaster, the Travel Channel.
