The Leeds-based agency won a four-way pitch against The Brand Union, Dragon Rouge and Start Creative.

The review was overseen by Directgov communications and engagement director, Mike Hoban, who joined from Scottish Widows earlier this year. A new brand identity will roll out before the end of the year.

The Government recently confirmed plans to close 95% of its consumer and business websites, and move the content to Directgov and businesslink.gov by 2011.

Directgov is planning an above-the-line campaign to coincide with the launch of its new identity. The ads will be created by incumbent agency MCBD, which won the business last October.
