Direct news: Black & Decker in World Cup DVD

Black & Decker is planning an EMEA ambush marketing campaign to capitalise on this summer's World Cup.

The activity, created by direct agency DS-J, will be fronted by retired Italian football referee Pierluigi Collina.

Customers buying Black & Decker products during the promotion will receive a World Cup DVD, which features Collina reviewing his favourite World Cup moments, goals and players, including Diego Maradona, Pele and Michael Owen, as well as a preview of this summer's tournament.

The DVD also emphasises Black & Decker's values of skill, determination, teamwork and control.

The promotion will run in-store in DIY retailers including Focus DIY and B&Q in the UK.
