Founded in 2010, Front Foot is a network of advertisers, media owners and agencies that provides support, resource and leadership with the aim of making the voice of advertising authoritative, evidence-based and progressive.
As chairman, Evans will lead Front Foot’s voice, particularly around the issue of trust in advertising.
Having been at Direct Line Group since 2012, Evans previously worked at Mars, 118118 and HSBC. In 2016, he founded the Sprintathon charity event in support of Stand Up To Cancer.
Evans is a member of the ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Power 100 Hall of Fame, and last September was one of 13 industry leaders awarded Marketing Society fellowships.
He is also one of eight marketers nominated for the Marketing Society's Marketing Leader of the Year 2018 award, in association with ±±¾©Èü³µpk10, which will be announced next week (13 June) at the Society’s Excellence Awards.
Stephen Woodford, chief executive of the Advertising Association, said: "Mark is an excellent ambassador for our industry, with a formidable reputation in the field of marketing.
"This is an exciting time to become chairman as we look to further grow the place of advertising in the UK economy and emphasise its positive role within society. It is all the more important as we enter into new territory with the departure of the UK from the EU and all the challenges and opportunities these changes may bring."
Evans said: "From my perspective, Front Foot is one of the most powerful networks for its members in producing compelling research and generating advocacy on the big issues that are affecting all of our businesses."
