Digitas wins online Samsung business

Digitas, the Publicis Groupe-owned digital agency, has taken a piece of Samsung's pan-European digital business out of WPP.

The agency picked up the account following a two-way shoot-out against Wunderman, the incumbent.

The brief, which covers the EMEA region, is to handle digital advertising duties for the electronics company's printers, monitors and flashdrive products. There is also an additional brief to bring a new product to market.

Samsung's global advertising and media relationships are undergoing change. In November, it moved its $600 million global media business out of WPP's MindShare and into Publicis' Starcom.

Digitas handles similar Samsung business in the US through its New York office.

This is the second piece of business the agency has picked up this year. Earlier, it scooped the £25 million global integrated advertising account for Delta Airlines.

The agency has been briefed to handle the above-the-line creative as well as online advertising, web build and media planning and buying.
