Digital Media Sales in GolfBug.tv deal

Digital Media Sales has won the contract to sell advertising for broadband golf channel GolfBug.tv, the internet TV show that offers the latest golf tournament news, course and equipment reviews and interviews with professionals.

The channel attracts about 100,000 unique users a month and the revenue potential is estimated at £500,000 annually.

It recently reached a landmark agreement with the R&A, the UK golf governing body, gaining permission to broadcast archived action from top golf competitions, such as The Open, the Amateur Championship and the Walker Cup.

Andrew Cooke, managing director of Brand Live, the owners and operators of GolfBug.tv, was attracted to Digital Media Sales' offering, saying the company has "demonstrated a commitment to IPTV as a medium".

Peter Barrett, commercial director at Digital Media Sales, said: "GolfBug.tv will deliver what hardcore golfers want. A great schedule and astute marketing will deliver an audience that is really special."
