My three-year-old daughter was a bit bemused by the programme, which is a rather strange, hectic mix of themed shows that are a far cry from the cute stories we all know and love. Poor old Roger Hargreaves.
The creators have ditched some favourite characters (Mr Greedy), renamed others (Mr Fussy has become Mr Pernickety) and scandalously altered yet more - Mr Nosey no longer has a big nose, and Mr Strong is no longer square.
However, the good news is that the series is supported by a big, shiny website, on which each of the 25 Mr Men and Little Misses has their own page with a mini game, video and fun stuff to download. There are some genuinely laugh-out loud parts, too, with highlights including Mr Happy managing to stay happy despite being prodded annoyingly, and a French Mr Rude who asks you to pull his fingers to make him fart. Kids (and parents) will love it.
The site offers enough interaction to keep children amused for hours, and though you'll recognise some of the game mechanics from virals gone by, this is a great introduction to the remastered Mr Men. When you get five minutes to spare, go and have a play.
