The Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO chairman was a finalist at the Veuve Clicquot Awards to honour the businesswoman of the year.
She was the first-ever adwoman to be nominated for the awards, which bills itself as the Oscars for women who have successfully stormed the male business bastions. Quite an achievement given that women running major agencies are about as common as ... er ... snowballs in hell.
Diary's invitation seems to have been lost in the post, but, knowing Snowball as we do, we're sure the audience was spared Gwyneth Paltrow-like blubbing and a thank you list as long as Marylebone Road.
The same no doubt goes for the winner, Carolyn McCall, the Guardian Media Group chief.
