The drinks company is understood to have asked agencies, both in the UK and France, to pitch for the international ad business for the orange and Cognac liqueur.

In April 2009, Diageo announced that it had reached an exclusive agreement with Marnier-Lapostolle to distribute and market the Grand Marnier range in Europe.

In the UK, the deal took effect only last month, when marketing rights transferred from specialist drinks distributor Cellar Trends.

Diageo has appointed RPM to handle experiential activity for the brand.
