DFS ad rapped by ASA for promoting full-price goods in a sale campaign

LONDON - Furniture retailer DFS has been condemned for featuring full-priced products in an ad for its half-price sale.

The ASA noted that a large orange corner sofa featured in the ad was not being sold for half price.

At two different points in the ad, two women wrote ‘Half Price' on the camera lens. 

A voice-over stated ‘come and see the half price Zeta collection at DFS.'

The ASA claimed viewers were likely to believe all sofas shown were included in the half price sale. 

DFS disagreed that the ad was misleading as this sofa were not part of the Zeta collection and were therefore not half price.
