Desmond hangs on to his best-selling porn title Forum

LONDON - Richard Desmond has held on to the most profitable of his adult titles Forum, which is not part of the £20m deal with Remnant Media.

According to a report in The Observer newspaper Desmond has hung on to Forum because he considers it not to be a porn magazine but a magazine of "sexual relations".

When first reported, it was believed that Desmond had sold all of his adult magazine titles, which included Asian Babes, Readers' Wives and Big Ones International, as part of a effort to clean up his image as he bids to win control of the Telegraph newspapers.

However Forum is staying at Northern & Shell. Unlike his other titles Forum is published in the UK through a licensing deal with its US owner General Media Communications.

It was GMC that confirmed Desmond was still the publisher of the title, which publishes explicit "readers'" letters.

Under the deal with Remnant Media the offloaded porn magazines will continue to be produced out of and distributed by Desmond's Northern & Shell.

Last week the Bank of Ireland was been forced to pull £7m of funding from Remnant Media after complaints from customers.

The pulling of the funds does not affect Desmond as he has already received cash for the sale of the titles.
