
The Richard Desmond-owned Sunday tabloid, the Daily Star on Sunday, is upping its print run from 600,000 to 2.2 million copies and is launching a spin-off OK! title this weekend.
OK! Extra is to be printed on 64 pages and on the same paper stock as Desmond's flagship title OK! It is set to become be a permanent addition to the Sunday tabloid.
Sources close to the paper told Media Week: "This week's issue of the Daily Star Sunday will be bigger than ever before".
The Daily Star Sunday will be upping its pagination from 72 to 96 pages.
Desmond is also thought to be increasing the print run of its Sunday Express title by 40% and is likely to produce over 750,000 copies.
Desmond's titles are to be supported by a TV campaign which could air as early as Friday evening.
Desmond's distribution blitz is to be mirrored by the mid-market Mail on Sunday, which is upping its print run by around 50% and is expected to print over three million copies.

The Mail on Sunday's May circulation was 1,918,751, the Sunday Express' 563,397, The People's 481,224 and the Daily Star Sunday's 305,984.
The Mail on Sunday is to print over three million copies, the Sunday Express over 750,000.
