Denny promoted to Chat and Pick Me Up publishing role

Simon Denny, former publishing manager at Haymarket which publishes Media Week, has landed the job of publisher of two of IPC Connect’s two most successful women’s weekly titles – Chat and Pick Me Up.

In his new role, Denny will take day-to-day publishing responsibility for the two mags which between them sell 1.1 million copies each week.

He will report directly to Chat and Pick Me Up's publishing director Sandy Gale.

Denny, who has also worked as circulation manager at IPC South Bank, said his appointment was a "great opportunity to build on my previous experiences and realise an ambition of working as a publisher within the weeklies market".

Chat is IPC's leading true life and puzzles weekly with a circulation of 609,163. Pick Me Up was launched in January as the next generation real life weekly. Its average circulation is 503,950 copies per issue.

IPC Connect is the women's weekly division of IPC Media.
