Dennis reveals management lineup after Jack purchase

LONDON – Maxim parent Dennis Publishing has revealed the new senior management lineup following its takeover of I Feel Good (IFG), the publisher of Jack, and has hired former Hachette Filipacchi managing director Vivien Cotterill to run its consumer publishing operation.

Former Dennis group managing director Alistair Ramsay becomes CEO, while Tom Gleeson, previously managing director of IFG, who joined when the company bought John Brown Publishing, becomes chief financial officer.

Bruce Sandell, IFG commercial director, becomes group publishing director, while Anna Hyde, previously IFG ad director, becomes group ad director.

Following the acquisition of IFG -- which includes Viz, Fortean Times and Bizarre -- and the purchase of the Erotic Review, Dennis said it is gearing itself up for a period of sustained growth, both by further acquisition, partnership and launch.

This follows founder Felix Dennis's promise to reinvest some of the profits made from the company's US division into its UK operation.

Ramsay said: "At long, long last the tide has turned. Our huge gamble in the USA has borne spectacular fruit and after six cash-starved years the money is coming home. This company is ready to rock’n’roll!"

Ramsay and Cotterill will sit alongside chairman Felix Dennis on the board, as well as Dennis Computing circulation director Julian Thorne, managing director James Tye, and non executive directors Richard Pountain and group financial director Ian Leggett.

Dennis chairman Felix Dennis, said: "Funding a start-up in America which grew from zero to over $200m turnover in just six years came close to killing us as an independently financed company. At one point it threatened to destroy the parent company as the latter laboured under the burden of feeding and nurturing a gigantic cuckoo in the nest.

"But all's well that ends well -- even if I did have to sell a couple of Rolls Royces. Alistair has put together a disciplined, talented and highly motivated management team. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do on a level playing field, but I bet our competition isn't."
