Dennis Publishing has promoted its former salesman Warren
Wooldridge to the role of publisher for PC Pro magazine.
Wooldridge, aged 32, was most recently associate publisher of Dennis
Publishing’s best-selling monthly PC title Computer Shopper.
He joined Dennis in 1993 as deputy advertisement director on Computer
Shopper.
Within a year he had taken over the running of the ad team on the
magazine until a promotion in 1997 broadened his remit to include
Computer Buyer and PC Zone in the role of group ad manager.
A year later, and following another promotion, Wooldridge launched
Internet Shopper, a monthly supplement which is aimed both at beginners
who are finding their way around the net as well as advanced users.
In his new publishing job, Wooldridge will devote his time to increasing
copy sales for PC Pro, which also publishes an annual guide called PC
Buyer’s Bible, and keeping an eye on the title’s seven-strong sales
team.
PC Pro, which has a subscription of 80,000, is ranked number three in
the monthly computer magazine tables behind PC Advisor and the UK’s
number one monthly PC title Computer Shopper.
’We’re 800 copies away from being number two,’ said Wooldridge.
James Tye, PC Pro’s former publisher, was promoted to director of
operations.
