Debrett's adds three advertising creatives to 500 'most influential' list

Al MacCuish, Chris Bovill and John Allison are among the advertising media and marketing names to make it into Debrett's list of the 500 most influential people in the UK.

The trio joins Nils Leonard, the chairman and chief creative officer at Grey London, as the only advertising creatives in the Debrett’s 500. MacCuish has been the chief creative officer at Sunshine since he co-founded the agency in 2012, while Bovill and Allison left Fallon in 2012 to head up 4Creative’s in-house agency.

Johnny Hornby, the founding partner of CHI & Partners, is again among the 500, as is James Murphy, the co-founder and chief executive of Adam & Eve/DDB; Moray MacLennan, the worldwide chief executive of M&C Saatchi; Jon Claydon, the chairman of Havas Work Club; and Robin Grant, the co-founder and global managing director of We Are Social.

Annette King, the chief executive of Ogilvy Group UK, has been listed for the first time.

WPP's founder and chief executive, Sir Martin Sorrell, again features on the list.

Representing media agencies, Jenny Biggam, a co-founder the7stars, makes the list for the first time. She joins Karen Blackett, the chairman of MediaCom, and Lindsay Pattison, the global chief executive of Maxus.

Laura Jordan Bambach, the creative partner at Mr President and co-founder of SheSays, made the list for the second time this year, in the digital category, alongside Nicola Mendelsohn, the vice president of EMEA for Facebook.

There are three marketers on the list: Craig Inglis, the customer director at John Lewis, makes the list for the first time. He is joined by Syl Saller, the chief marketing officer at Diageo; and Sarah Warby, the marketing director at Sainsbury’s.

Gay Haines, the ad industry headhunter who founded recruitment agency Grace Blue in 2006, has also made the list for the first time.

The Debrett’s 500 covers 23 sectors and there are 221 new names on this year’s list.
