De Lisle promoted to editor at Intelligent Life

LONDON - Tim de Lisle has been promoted to the role of editor at Intelligent Life magazine, the quarterly lifestyle title published by The Economist.

He has been deputy editor of the title since it was relaunched in September 2007, and takes over from Ed Carr.

Before joining Intelligent Life, de Lisle held roles including arts editor of the Times and The Independent on Sunday, and Weekend editor at the Daily Telegraph.

Carr has been promoted to the role of editorial director, as well as continuing as business affairs editor of The Economist.

De Lisle said: "[Intelligent Life] is a title people really want to work for. I've really enjoyed being deputy to Ed Carr and I'm excited to have the chance to carry on his good work."

Separately, Julie Kavanagh, former London editor of New York and Vanity Fair, has been recruited as a contributing editor at Intelligent Life.
