DDB unveils management changes as Morris is promoted

London - DDB Europe and DDB London have made a series of management changes including the promotion of Richard Morris, the business development manager, to regional director.

Morris will report to Michael Bray, president of DDB Europe, with a brief to grow the agency in new areas such as branded content and alliances, in addition to new business.

Bray said: "We know Morris' reputation in business development is recognised well beyond the UK, and we wanted to give him the opportunity to show what he can do on a wider stage."

In other changes, DDB has hired Jonathan Hill from Saatchi & Saatchi to the newly created role of group business director to head up its Volkswagen account.

Hill will have overall responsibility for brand advertising and dealership accounts, and will also oversee Tribal DDB's digital work on VW. In his previous role, Hill was responsible for the Toyota Europe account.

Separately, Nick Fox, previously senior vice-president of DDB Europe, has been promoted to chief operating officer of DDB London, while Philip Heimann, business director, will fill Morris's role at DDB London.

The restructure comes as DDB London welcomes Stephen Woodford as its new chairman and chief executive after a period of extended gardening leave. He joined the agency last Monday.

Woodford was set to join the agency in July as a replacement for chief executive Paul Hammersley, who joined The Red Brick Road.

However, contractual ties with the Engine Group, which owns WCRS and where he was chief executive, meant his arrival was postponed.

Woodford said: "Heimann is one of our brightest and best business directors and with Morris in the European role and Heimann representing London, we will have one of the best business development teams in the market."
