
The poster, which has already scooped other awards for DDB, was created by creative directors Jeremy Craigen and Ewan Paterson, as part of the "Small but tough" campaign. The art directors on the poster are Nick Allsop and Feargal Ballance, while copywriting is by Simon Veksner and Dylan Harrison. The typography is by Kevin Clarke and the photographer is Paul Murphy.
The Outdoor Grand Prix, also awarded at a ceremony last night, went to J Walter Thompson Kuala Lumpur for a poster called "missile car", created for the television station CH-9 Media.
DDB London was the only gold Lion winner from the UK this year, with Lowe and Saatchi & Saatchi picking up silver Lions for work for Nestle and sex shop Coco de Mer respectively. DDB also picked up silver for a press campaign for Harvey Nichols, and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO won one silver Lion for work on Guinness.
British agencies to take home bronze were AMV for Snickers and Lowe for a press campaign for Stella Artois. Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R won a silver for the Land Rover "maasai" ad, and two bronze Lions for work on Dualit.
The category at this year's Cannes International Advertising Festival had 9,979 entries from 71 countries, with Piyush Pandey, executive chairman and national creative director for Ogilvy & Mather India, heading the jury.
