D'Arcy has appointed Lee Garfinkel as global creative leader in a
bid to improve the quality of creative work across its network.
Garfinkel, who left Lowe Lintas & Partners in New York in March, has
been appointed to the position of president and chief creative officer,
worldwide. He spent eight years at Lowe during a career of 23 years, in
which he has built a reputation as one of the world's leading creative
directors.
Garfinkel, 46, was the chairman, chief executive and chief creative
officer at Lowe Lintas North America. He was credited with raising the
agency's creative profile with work for clients including Diet Coke,
Heineken and Mercedes-Benz.
Before working at Lowe Lintas, Garfinkel spent three years as BBDO's
executive creative director. He created Pepsi's Cindy Crawford and MC
Hammer spots. He spent 11 years at Levine, Huntley, Schmidt & Beaver
before this.
D'Arcy will now be run by a global management team led by John Farrell,
the president and chief executive, Susan Gianinno, the president and
chief branding officer, and Garfinkel.
Garfinkel said: "D'Arcy has been around a long time, but everything
about it feels new. Susan and John have put together an incredible team;
there is a collective energy throughout the board."
