The chief strategist for EMEA has been promoted to chief strategy officer for the ad division McCann Erickson Worldwide.

Daryl Lee, the head of global strategy at Universal McCann, will become the chief integration architect for McCann Worldgroup, as Brien looks to build a team around the chief strategy officer, Eric Einhorn.

Daley rejoined McCann for his second stint at the network in March last year, having quit in 2001. He left to join WPP's Red Cell network as its worldwide chief executive before moving to Saatchi & Saatchi and then to Manchester United, where he was the group commercial director.

In his new role, Daley will work with Brien to ensure the network has the necessary resources for growth.
