Daily Mirror sees 3% ABC fall-off despite rethink

The Daily Mirror's move to a more entertaining news agenda has failed to hold onto the gains made last month as its ABC fell 3% in September, with sales back below the two million mark.

The relaunched Saturday Times package had little impact on the paper's average daily sale, which was up just 0.4%. But the Sunday Times was up 6.4%, boosted by two issues in the ABC period of CD-Rom section 'The Month'.

The Observer, up 8% in September, was also boosted by an estimated 14% uplift in the issue that carried the new 'Music Monthly' supplement.
