Visitors to the online Expo will be able to ‘walk' through the 3D grounds and enter replicas of the pavilions representing 300 countries from their desktops.
The project took two years to develop and was produced by a specialist team of 100 designers and technicians. It is anticipated to attract around 100 million visitors.
"This online Expo brings this large-scale event - the first its kind - to a global audience in the comfort of their own home," said managing director for Crystal CG International Gilles Albaredes.
"Online events marry up to the buying, selling and information gathering habits of today's ‘social media generation'. Crystal CG is delighted to be involved in this ground-breaking project that will enhance the public's experience and engage those that are unable to travel to Shanghai for the live event," he added.
