Cruickshank quits Hearst for VideoJug

Nancy Cruickshank, the former managing director of Hearst Digital, has joined online video service VideoJug as global chief executive.

Cruickshank left Hearst Digital, the digital division of publisher NatMags, last week after only a year in the job.

Handbag.com, the women's portal she previously headed, was taken over by NatMags a year ago.

Cruickshank has been replaced as Hearst Digital managing director by Alex Ballantyne, the founder and managing director of NatMags site Netdoctor.co.uk.

Advice site VideoJug offers a series of "how to" guides showing people how best to perform tasks.

Dan Thompson, founder and chief executive of VideoJug, has taken the role of chairman to make way for Cruickshank.
