In the six months to the end of June, the paid-for Croydon Advertiser had an average circulation of 15,599. It will now be distributed to more than 70,000 homes in Croydon and Sutton in addition to being paid for in some areas.
Andy Worden, editor of the Croydon Advertiser, said: "We pride ourselves on producing one of the best weekly newspapers in the country. The relaunch allows us to attract and deliver news to new audiences with in-depth coverage of smaller communities within Croydon."
The Croydon Advertiser’s sister title, the Advertiser Midweek, previously known as the Croydon Post, will be available as a pick-up title, handed out in high volume areas and distributed free to more than 15,000 homes in selected areas.
The Advertiser Midweek had an average circulation of 103,981 in the first six months of 2010, all of which was distributed free to homes.
Since rebranding from the Croydon and Sutton Post in the week ending 7 May it has reduced its distribution drastically. From now on 3,350 copies will be available to pick up and 6,720 will be handed out in addition to the 15,000 delivered to homes.
Nicola Rogers, joint commercial director of Northcliffe South East, said: "Our new portfolio helps advertisers to reach relevant and broader audiences to boost response and return on investment. The launch of these high-profile creative advertising platforms will help advertisers achieve stand-out in the marketplace."
The national ad sales for Northcliffe Media passed to regional sales house Media Force in December 2008.
